These marinades have been created to take all of the thinking out of the process of preparing a meal.
It's so simple:
- place the food into a plastic bag or glass container
- shake the marinade to infuse the flavors
- pour it over the food until covered
- seal the container and refrigerate for 30 min or more
- remove from conatiner and cook using your preferred method
While you are waiting for the marinade to infuse you can cook the additons to the meal
cARNE ASADA street TACOS
yields 12 tacos-prep time 38min
2lbs OF STEAK(SKIRT, FLANK, ETC) or portobello mushrooms(vegetarian)
6oz statesmen carne asada
1 white onion
4oz fresh cilantro
12oz premade guacamole
12oz premade pico de gallo
10oz queso fresco
12oz cilantro lime crema
12 flour tortillas or corn(gluten free)
cilantro lime crema
12oz sour cream
1 fresh lime
2oz fresh cilantro
Directions:
place the steak/mushrooms in plastic bag or glass bowl and pour statesmen carne asada over the meat/veg until covered. seal and place in the refrigerator for 30+minutes. remember: the longer you marinate the more flavor will infuse. while waiting, dice the white onion, finely chop the cilantro, and crumble the queso fresco.
Preparing cilantro lime crema
place sour cream in bowl. squeeze lime juice into bowl. add 2oz finely chopped cilanto. Mix until all ingredients are blended together.
Preparation:
Once steak/veg is marinated make sure your grill is hot. place steak/veg on grill and cook to preferred temperature. remove from grill and slice against the grain on the steak to ensure the most tenderness. dice steak/veg into bite size pieces.
Serving:
build your delicious tacos: place 2-3oz carne asada steak/veg on tortilla, add guacamole, pico de gallo, diced white onion, fresh cilantro, queso fresco and top with the cilantro lime crema. Serve and enjoy!
